Location, Location, Location

Florida mapApalachicola, Eastpoint and St. George Island are located off of scenic route Hwy 98. From eastbound I-10 take the Quincy exit, Exit 26, Westbound take the second Exit 26; turn right/left onto Cty Rte 267, away from Quincy. Make a right when the road intersects with Hwy 20 (approx. 20 miles). Go west on Hwy 20 until you reach the town of Hosford (approx. 7 miles). Make a left at the intersection where the school and two gas stations are located. You are now on Hwy 65. Continue on this road until you reach the end (approx 50 miles). You are now at the intersection of Hwy 65 & Hwy 98. On your way here-you have traveled through the Apalachicola National Forest and Tate's Hell area. You are presently looking at the Apalachicola Bay directly in front of you. You make a right. The first town you will enter is Eastpoint. There's many fine restaurants and retail fish, shrimp, and oyster shops to suit any of your "fishy" hungers.

As you leave Eastpoint, you will see a sign for the St. George Island State Park and Bridge (SR300). Making a left at this intersection will take you over the causeways to St. George Island.  Here you'll find lodging, many fine eateries, wonderful beach shops and of course, the outstanding St. George Island Beach. St. George Island State Park is located at the far east end of the island and affords one with camping, covered picnic areas, restrooms and showers. The fee for entry is minimum for a full day of surf, sand and fun.

Coming back to the main land and making a left-hand turn on Hwy 98, you are now traveling towards the quaint city of Apalachicola. You will cross the Apalachicola Bay by bridge entering the town from a bird's eye view advantage (the picture on the home page was taken from the top of the bridge). Apalachicola is noted for having the only traffic signal in Franklin County- a flashing caution light.

You will find bed & breakfast inns, motels, hotels, eateries of every style and decor and of course, some of the best local art around.

Need a vacation home? You have come to the right place. While you are sightseeing around our town, stop by and see Al at the Prudential Resort Realty office on Market Street.
